Achieving an unprecedented feat, Elephant House Cream Soda was recently recognised as the "People's Beverage Brand of the Year" at the 2015 Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) Nielsen People's Awards, for the ninth year in a row.

EGB woos Miss Universe China finalists with its uniquely Sri Lankan flavor

One of Sri Lanka's iconic beverage brands, Elephant House Ginger Beer, known widely as EGB, partnered with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts to be the official beverage sponsor for the Miss Universe China pre pageant tour of Sri Lanka. Quenching their thirst all through the tour with its refreshingly Sri Lankan flavor, EGB won the hearts of the Chinese contingent which included the event's 16 finalists.

"The Miss Universe China pre-pageant tour offers us a great opportunity to showcase our paradise island to the world. With over 100,000 arrivals to date this year, China is the second largest source market for Sri Lanka and this tour will help us attract even more travelers from the country" said Head of Beverages, Elephant House and Vice President, John Keells Holdings Daminda Gamlath. "As a home grown brand, we are glad to partner with the event and welcome the Miss Universe China delegation to Sri Lanka."

Exploring our emerald isle, the visitors from China visited the cultural triangle, wildlife parks and the golden beaches of the southern coast. During the tour, they also savored some of the country's distinctive gastronomical treats including EGB. The guests from China were spellbound by the rush of fresh Ginger that EGB offers in each sip. They were also impressed to learn that, based on a recipe that is over a century old, EGB's taste is derived from 100% natural ginger sourced locally from over 250 farmers in the Central Province. The tour concluded with a gala fashion show where the lovely ladies from China walked down the ramp in high street creations by some of Sri Lanka's celebrated designers.

The Miss Universe China pageant is organized by Yue-Sai Khan Productions - another successful venture by Yue-Sai Khan, the Chinese American Emmy-winning television host and producer, successful entrepreneur, fashion icon, bestselling author and humanitarian who has a mammoth following in China. The pageant is one of the most glamorous events in China with the who's who of China taking great interest in it. A contingent of Chinese media will also be on tour with the contestants in order to promote Sri Lanka as a quality destination for travel.

EGB Celebrates Two Years of Flying with SriLankan

Sri Lanka's iconic beverage brand Elephant House Ginger Beer, lovingly referred to as EGB, completed two years as the only local soft drink to be served onboard SriLankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka recently. With the goodness of natural ginger in every sip, EGB has been a great addition to the airlines' famed inflight menu.

Elephant House Cream Soda – People's choice for the 8th consecutive year

Elephant House Cream Soda won the "The FMCG Beverage Brand of the Year 2014" award for the 8th consecutive time at the SLIM - Nielsen People's Awards on Wednesday 26th February 2014 at Water Edge. Held jointly with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and the Nielsen Company, the Peoples Awards accolade is distinguished by the fact that they are presented to a recipient, nominated by the people, making the award a true reflection of the pulse of the people.


In addition, Elephant House Cream Soda was also joint winner of the "The Youth Beverage Brand of the Year 2014" for the 2nd consecutive time at the SLIM - Nielsen People's Awards 2014.


As a truly Sri Lankan company Elephant House is proud of this achievement.

Bronze award winner in the turnaround brand of the year category at SLIM Brand Excellence 2013

Elephant House Lemonade was selected as the Bronze award winner in the turnaround brand of the year category at SLIM Brand Excellence 2013 held at Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC) on the 16th of October 2013. The selection process for these awards was done by a qualified panel of judges. Lemonade emerged victorious with a Bronze through a rigorous selection process which was based on four areas, Brand Intent, Brand Content, Brand Process and Brand Performance.
